Dr. Dana Hurley studies the evolution of volatiles in the inner Solar System and the effects of the space environment on planetary bodies. She analyzes spacecraft data to increase understanding of planetary exospheres, space plasma environments, and volatile contents. Dr. Hurley developed multiple numerical models to simulate physical processes occurring in the Solar System including plume dynamics, exospheric dynamics, plasma-exosphere interactions, plasma-surface interactions, impact gardening, and thermal diffusion.
